Download your list as a CSV

Seven columns, including the consent record. We do not send campaigns, so the file is not a convenience, it is the intended route.

Seven columns

The CSV contains, in this order:

email
name, if you asked for one
signed_up_at
consent_at
consent_source, which says how you got the address — the sign-up form, a file they downloaded, an opt-in after paying you, or a purchase
referral_code, the tracked link they arrived on
status

The consent record travels with the email address, so a sending tool that asks where the list came from has its answer in the file.

A name cannot become a formula

Values are escaped to RFC 4180, and a value beginning =, +, - or @ is prefixed with a quote before it is written.

This is CSV injection. A spreadsheet treats a cell starting with = as a formula, so somebody signing up with a carefully chosen name can hand you a file that runs something when you open it. The quote makes the cell inert text.

What is in the file

On Pro, every email address you have collected. On the free plan, the first five, which is the same five the interface shows you.

Contacts you have removed are left out. On the free plan the five-address limit counts removed rows too, so deleting people cannot make the export bigger.

People ask which tools this works with. All of them: it is a CSV. We are not affiliated with any of these four and there is nothing to set up.

Where to take it

Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Beehiiv, Buttondown, or anything else that takes a CSV.

Deleting your account

Export first. Deleting the account deletes your page, your contacts and your analytics. Your Stripe account is yours and is untouched.

On the free plan, email addresses you were never able to read are deleted after twelve months.
