Home / Link in bio / Threads

Threads has clickable links in every post and pays creators nothing.

Five bio links, no dead placements, and no Meta-funded monetization of any kind.

Checked August 2026

Every claim links to its source. These rules change without warning.

How Threads pays creators

It does not.

Threads has no Meta-funded creator monetization. No ad share, no bonus programme, no gifts, no subscriptions, no payout mechanism of any kind.

Meta documents the exclusion. Its partnership-ads eligibility page lists exactly two surfaces where creator content can earn: "Facebook Pages or profiles in professional mode" and "Instagram professional accounts".3 A second Meta page says it outright: "partnership ads and boosting of organic branded posts are not currently supported in Threads".4 The Threads help centre has no monetization or payouts section, where Instagram's has a dedicated one.

You can still do brand deals on Threads, disclosed with the paid partnership label. That money comes from the brand. Meta pays you nothing.

Ads run on Threads as an advertiser product. No revenue share points back at the person whose posts they appear beside.

So whatever you get out of Threads, you get by taking people somewhere else. It has the loosest link rules here, which makes that easy.

Where a link can actually go

The simplest table on this site. There are no dead placements to warn you about.

PlacementVerdictSo do this
Bio linksClickableUp to five, added in March 2025. Put a tracked link here and leave it. 1
Links in postsClickableClickable. Meta's feature announcement offers creators insights on "how many people have visited the links you've shared, whether in your bio or in posts". This is the placement to use. 1

Meta states the opposite of a reach penalty here: posts on Threads "can be recommended to people on Instagram and Facebook, extending your reach beyond the app". No link penalty is documented, on Threads or on any other platform on this site.

Links in posts are unrationed, so label by series.

Keep one tracked link in the bio and start a fresh one each time you begin something. The report becomes a record of which of your ideas people acted on.

Both point at the same page. The code on the end is what tells them apart. The Threads in-app browser strips the referrer but names itself in the User-Agent, so we can tell Threads traffic from the rest either way; only the code tells you which series it was. How the tracking works.

What the report then tells you

Every email address and every payment is counted against the placement it arrived from.

Illustrative figures, not a real account. The shape is the point, not the numbers.

Threads bio 28892 $24

Posting the link beat parking it in the bio by a factor of five, and on Threads you can post it as often as you like.

Threads will not give you their email addresses.

Threads pays you nothing, so what you take away from it is the whole return on the time. It will not give you your followers' email addresses either.

Five bio links, and links in every post you make. Point them at a page that carries up to ten links of its own, with a sign-up form and a payment block above them, so a visitor can join your list or pay you instead of only tapping through. We take 0%.

Addresses come from the form on your page and from the opt-in link on a payment receipt, and export as a CSV. How the capture and the consent record work. The free plan collects without limit and shows you the first five.

* Stripe's card fee still applies.
