How X pays creators
Do not go looking for Ads Revenue Sharing. It is being retired.3
X stopped accepting new enrolments into the Creator Revenue Sharing programme on 7 August 2026 and is retiring it on 7 September 2026. What replaces it is the Original Content Rewards Program.3 Given that transition lands days after this page was written, check the source before you plan around any of it.
- An active X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription. Basic does not qualify to earn
- 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, with replies excluded from the count
- 500 verified followers
- 18 or over, a personal or business account, in good standing
Payouts run fortnightly with a $30 minimum, paid on qualified impressions rather than on ads in your replies.4 X publishes no rate per impression.
Note the first line: you pay X a subscription to become eligible to be paid by X.
Where a link can actually go
Links work everywhere a person can type. The only two rows worth caution about are ones X does not document.

Against the folklore about links suppressing reach: X says its link service "measures information such as how many times a link has been clicked, which is an important quality signal in determining how relevant and interesting each post is when compared to similar posts". No platform on this site documents a reach penalty for outbound links. X documents the opposite.
A post, a reply and a bio are three different audiences.
A post reaches the people who already follow you. A reply reaches the people who follow somebody else. Your bio reaches whoever went looking. One number called "X" hides all three.
All three point at the same page. The code on the end is what tells them apart, and it rides inside your URL, so t.co rewriting the link does not touch it. How the tracking works.
What the report then tells you
Every email address and every payment is counted against the placement it arrived from.

Replies brought a third of the traffic your own posts did, and more of everything else. Somebody else's audience was worth more than your own.
X will not give you their email addresses.
X will not give you your followers' email addresses. It will rewrite every link you post through its own domain, count the clicks, and use them to decide how far the post travels.
You get one website field on your profile. Point it at a page that carries up to ten links of its own, with a sign-up form and a payment block above them, so a visitor can join your list or pay you instead of only tapping through. We take 0%.
